Chateau Durfort-Vivens Dinner on 5 Dec 08
What a fitting way to finish the year with a final dinner on 5 Dec with Jerome Heranval, Technical Director of Chateau Durfort-Vivens of Margaux. Jerome presented vintages from 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2006 paired with the exquisite cuisine of Crystal Jade Restaurant at Ngee Ann City. As Robert Parker stated , "Durfort-Vivens always merits my attention because they stand by their own ideals and practices, an increasingly rare commodity these days".
23rd Anniversary/Induction Dinner on 3 Dec 08
Our ever popular Anniversary/Induction Dinner had always been oversubscribed in the past couple of years and last year’s 23rd anniversary event was no different. Fuelled by good reports by some commandeurs who had dined at the recently opened Folino Restaurant at One Fullerton, we were indeed pleased with the clockwork precision of the restaurant staff. No doubt the line up of wines from Cos Estournel was very much the cause of this overwhelming interest. The 2006 Cos Estournel Blanc, with its lively fruits and fresh exuberance, was paired with the warm Cod Flakes with Artichokes, Crushed Potatoes and “Liguria” Olive Oil. We were treated to generous pours of the back vintages of 2003, 2000, 1995 and 1985. The signature dish “Mamma Forlino” Lamb Chops brought a new meaning to the phrase “finger licking good”.
Winemakers Dinner event on 7 Nov 08
We had owners/representatives from Chateau Corbin, D'issan and Lagrange (St. Julien) on 7th Nov at Xi Yan Restaurant at 38A Craig Road. Wines served included Corbin 2003/2000, D'issan 2004/1985, Lagrange 1998/1988.

15 Jul, 2008 - Bastille Day Dinner
To celebrate Bastille Day, the French Ambassador HE Mr Pierre Buhler kindly accepted our invitation and graced this occasion. Dinner was prepared by Hilton's Guest Chef, Stephane Gaborieau - one star Michelin chef - at the Harbour Grill on Tuesday, 15th July 2008. We had about 60 attendees for this event. 25 & 26 May, 2008 - Union de Grand Cru Events
Dinner Tasting of Cru Classes of Graves on 25 May 08. The tasting cum dinner was with the Crus Classes de Graves, featuring the representatives and wines of Chateau Carbonnieux, Domaine de Chevalier, Chateau Smmith Haut Lafitte, Chateau de Fieuzal, Chateau Haut-Bailly and Chateau Malartic-Lagraviere. This was held Sunday 25th May at Park Palace, Grand Plaza Park Hotel. Click here for the menu.
The Union de Grand Cru of Bordeaux also held a tasting in the afternoon of 26th may and a dinner on that evening. This was an excellent programme with 70 producers present. Click here for the list of chateau represented at the tasting. The Commanderie secured seats for the tasting and dinner.

AGM. Venue at the Pan Pacific Hotel. Dinner after the AGM was held at Global Kitchen, Pan Pacific Hotel. Food was jointly cooked by Eric Dequin of the one star Auberge Labarthe from Bosdarros, France and Stephane Carrade of the two star chez Ruffet from Jurancon, France.

Grand Maitre had in his email highlighted the creation of the territorial Grand Maitres and the appointment of the Grand Maitre of China and South East Asia. For some further background on this, please read the letters from the Grand Maitre of the Grand Conseil du Vin de Bordeaux that mentions the reason for the appointment and the appointees.
13 Mar, 2008 - Dinner with Hubert de Bouard
We were drawn back to Keong Saik Road for this vintner dinner with
Hubert De Bouard De Laforest of Chateau Angelus, La Fleur De Bouard and
Chateau Bellevue. Hubert is now also consultant to Pichon Lalande. Dinner
was at Nicolas Le Restaurant, which some of you may recall Nicolas from
L'Aigle D'or. The last four years, Nicolas was the executive chef/partner
at Le Vendome, Bangkok. We welcomed him back and enjoyed Nicolas'
style of traditional french cuisine, no cream, just natural jus and
emulsion with emphasis on products from provence. "Kok Leong"
